Laboratory
HIV/AIDS diagnostic laboratory is operational since 1984. It was the fi rst laboratory in the country to run tests for detection of antibodies against HIV/AIDS using ELISA as well as confi rmatory, Western Blot, methods.
Since initial discovery of confi rmed HIV/AIDS case in the country in 1989, more than 4000 patients with HIV/AIDS infection were identifi ed in this laboratory.
HIV/AIDS Diagnostic Laboratory has initiated and launched more than 70 HIV/AIDS diagnostic laboratory services through the country since 1984.
